Unity in Community – Psalm 133
Psalm 133 is a short Psalm, in fact, it is only 3 verses. But in this Psalm are some valuable truths about the power of unity and the impact of being connected to each other. Join us in August for this 4-week series as we unpack Psalm 133 and unlock the power of unity in community.
Week 3: Refreshing and Nourishing – Psalm 133:3
It is good, pleasant and blessed when God’s people dwell together in unity. So why is it so elusive? The barrier to unity is you and me and the solution is humility and serving others. Unity is a sacred and holy space where God’s people are refreshed as they refresh others.
DISCUSSION/REFLECTION QUESTIONS:

- What is your favorite type of weather and why?
- READ: Psalm 133:1-3. What does Psalm 133:3 tell us about unity in community? What is the significance of dew mentioned here?
- READ: Proverbs 11:24-25. Doug said that we were created to refresh others and that it is the wise thing to do in refreshing others because it refreshes us as well. What does it mean to refresh others?
- How have you experienced that truth from Proverbs 11:25 about refreshing others was refreshing to you?Who is someone in your life who has refreshed you? How were they refreshing to you?
- What are some ways you could refresh others this week?
- READ: 1 Corinthians 16:15-18. Spend some time SOAPing this passage. You can either spend time SOAPing individually and documenting for a several minutes and then spend time sharing with each -OR- SOAP in real time with each other. Either way make as many observations as you can.
