Week 4: The Mystery and Mission of Jesus – Colossians 1:24-2:5
Jesus is the ultimate x-factor in life. Is Jesus the ultimate X-factor in your life? In your daily life? We are on a mission to make the mystery revealed of “Christ in you, the hope of glory” known to everyone and seek to present everyone mature in Christ. We are servants who are on a mission together. When we’re knit together in love and knowledge, deception cannot tear us apart.
DISCUSSION/REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
- What was your first job? What do you remember most about it?
- Who is someone that has been a difference maker in your life? How did they make a difference in you?
- READ: Colossians 1:24-2:5. Spend some time SOAPing this passage. You can either spend time SOAPing individually and documenting for a several minutes and then spend time sharing with each -OR- SOAP in real time with each other. Either way make as many observations as you can.
- OBSERVATIONS: What stands out to you from this passage What are your observations?
- How would you summarize this passage in one sentence?
- What does this tell me about who Jesus is?
- What does this tell me about who I am in Christ?
- What is the “mystery” that Paul mentions 3 times in this passage?
- What does this passage tell us about who Paul was as a difference maker? What do we learn about who he was? What was his goal? What was his strategy?
- What does Paul warn about in Colossians 2:1-4? And what is his solution?
- Doug said that we too were made to make a difference for Christ. What are the keys to being a difference maker like Paul found in Colossians 1:24-2:5?
- What would it look like you seek to make a difference this week? How will you live tis out intentionally?
