A Study of 1 John: That You May Know
Week 6: Changed & Changing – 1 John 3:1-9
1 John was written “so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13). So, how do you know? 1 John 2:28-3:9 gives us two tests: The IDENTITY Test: Who do you think you are? & The SIN TEST: Am I making progress or excuses? The love, presence, and work of God in our lives will change our identity and start a process of changing us from the inside out.

- The second test presented in this passage is The SIN Test: Am I making progress or excuses? What can we take from 1 John 2:28-3:9 help us in our struggle against sin?
- Why does knowing your identity in Christ, and knowing who you are becoming in Christ as a work in progress, help you in the struggle against sin?
