Instructions for Christmas On Purpose BINGO:
Brainstorm and jot down a list of things that you could do this Christmas to be purposeful and intentionally engage in this Christmas season. Then select which ones you want to do this Christmas season and write them randomly on the BINGO card in the squares on the other side of this page. Then work through the BINGO card over this month. (We’ve made some suggestions below to get you started).Try to have a variety of activities that fit in the categories:
- Focusing on Jesus: How can you focus on and celebrate Jesus? Examples: Read the Christmas story in the Bible, Attend and invite to the Christmas Eve services, Spend some time reflecting and discussing on the meaning of the Christmas Carols you sing, etc.
- Serving Others: How can you give of your time, money & attention to others, especially those in need? Examples: Give money at a Red Kettle&/or sign up to Ring the Bell for the Salvation Army; etc.
- Festive Fun: How can you be merry, festive and get into the holidays in some fun ways? Example: Decorate the house, make a fun Christmas playlist, go look at Christmas lights, etc.
IDEAS TO GET YOU STARTED:
- Read the Christmas story in the Bible
- Attend and invite someone to the Christmas Eve services
- Spend some time reflecting on and discussing the meaning of the Christmas Carols you sing
- Write out a Christmas prayer
- Give money at a Red Kettle
- Sign up to Ring the Bell for the Salvation Army
- Decorate the house for Christmas
- Make a fun Christmas playlist
- Go look at Christmas lights
- Go shopping for a unique Christmas ornament for a friend
- Make a list of your favorite Christmas movies or specials and plan which ones you will watch
- Make a homemade Christmas card for someone you care about
- Make Christmas cookies and give them to a neighbor
